Melbourne Book Swap / Haul

I’ve met some amazing bookish people on Instagram and sometimes we meet up and swap books we don’t want anymore! ❤ Sally organised it, you can find her Instagram here! (Her Harry Potter collection is to die for.)

I got 8 new books for free from these lovely girls and I’m so excited to add them to my collection!

My thoughts and the Goodreads links below!

The Iron Trial – by Holly Black & Cassandra Clare
This was described to me as middle grade Harry Potter and I’m not sure how to feel about it. I likely won’t get to this for a while but I will share my thoughts when I do read it.

Enclave – by Ann Aguirre
Dystopian is right up my alley. Zombies (or ‘Freaks’) even more so! I’m sure this’ll end up being read for next Halloween, or on a dark and gloomy day!

Graceling – by Kristin Cashore
This fantasy sounds so good, I need it. Katsa could kill with her bare hands since she was 8; she is a Graceling. She’s forced to work as the king’s thug. There’s a terrible secret, and a truth to her Grace that she doesn’t realise… plus it’s feminist? YAS.

We Were Liars – by E Lockhart
I’ve never read a YA thriller before. I thought this was contemporary! I’m interested to see whether this will surprise me, or whether I’ll predict the twist!

White Hot Kiss – by Jennifer L Armentrout
(Plus its sequel, Stone Cold Touch.)
The main character is half demon, half gargoyle. CRAZY, I NEED IT. I am SO EXCITED to read this! A supernatural young adult romance book with a demon uprising; this will definitely be a fast-paced read for when I’m super relaxed and need something a little trashy and easy to love!
Also, with these covers, I don’t think I’ll be reading them in public! 😛

Catch 22 – by Joseph Heller
This isn’t usually what I’d read (I grabbed it for a friend). It’s essentially a literary war book, I feel like Goodreads will sum it up way better than I ever could.

The Hound of Baskervilles – by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Goodreads says this is book 5, whoops. But Sherlock, I couldn’t say no to adding it to my collection!

Have you read any of these?? ❤

These are the lovely people involved (below)! I can’t wait to meet them all again soon! We chatted about books and ate snacks for hours, it was perfect.

  1. Graceling is fantastic, Katsa is such a strong woman and Po is the best, can’t wait to see what you think of it! 😀 I didn’t like the Iron Trials though, to much like HP for me to be able to fall into the story and not think I should just read HP instead XD
